See more photos from Aunt Shani and Uncle Dave uploaded today. These were taken here and at the NICU on Saturday, March 23, 2003. They include one of the triplets' cousins born in the last few months too.

Brooks came home Saturday night (March 30th!). He didn't need any monitor or anything. He figured out breathing and eating and came home. Uncle Mike brought his camera the next day and I just uploaded a bunch of photos from Sunday all starting with 040203. Check them out in the photo directory.

Thanks to anyone who visits us remembering that these are premature babies. We can't allow children under 13 and anyone who thinks they may possibly have a cold or be sick should also steer clear. Those are the rules for this time of year known as RSV season for preemie babies.

John and Brynley came home with us on the 18th. They've kept us busy. Thanks to Uncle Mike and Aunt Angie in Columbus, we have babysitters who have allowed us chances to go hold and feed Brooks who is still in the NICU.

Brooks has been advancing every day we visit. He is going to be OK.

Update as of 3/17/03
Lots to report but not a lot of time to report it.
The key developments:

Brooks is off the ventilator! This means he is now learning to breath on his own. He has a CPAP to help open his airways. If he can sustain this for a couple days, he'll be out of the woods. Breast milk sure does have some magic powers.

Triplet Slide Show by Uncle Mike is now up. It's in Windows Media format in a 8MB file (don't attempt this without a high-speed download).

Sandra: She's going to have an extended stay in the hospital. All things considered, though, she is doing great!
John: He never saw the NICU and may be sent home Monday morning! [Dad gets a crash course on baby stuff!]
Brynley: She's went to the NICU at first, but has been out (and in the room with us even) since Friday. Unfortunately, if she doesn't start eating better, she might have to go back. Not to be worried, though, she's doing real well.
Brooks: He went to the nursey first, but had to go back to NICU after 4 hours or so. He's been on a ventilator and requires its help to breath. He needs our prayers, but everyone is predicting he'll be OK.
Tasha: She's become the amazing big sister. She knows how to burb babies, diaper babies, feed babies, soothe babies, and everything as if she's an expert. She even showed Dad how to do a better job burbing the babies!

Thanks to everyone who has helped us along the way over the past few months. We are learning to accept help and really do appreciate it.

Special thanks to the seventh graders at St. Francis DeSales in Newark who have been praying for the triplets at school every day. See? Prayer does work!

They're here! The babies were born Thursday morning, March 13, 2003 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

Here's two photos of all three just after birth:

John Chester Platt was born at 12:22 a.m. weighing 4 lbs. 8 oz.

Brynley Addison Platt was born at 12:23 a.m. weighing 4 lbs. 3 oz.

Brooks Edward Platt was born at 12:24 a.m. weighing 5 lbs. 3 oz.

Mom and babies are doing just great! More photos when we have the time (that could be in 2025!)
